Opening pool in spring and closing pool in winter

Needing your pool opened for the summer and closed for the winter? At Sunrise Pools and Spas, we offer services for pool opening to get it ready, and then winterization when it is time to close up the swimming pool. We will properly open and close your pool to essential maintain its lifespan and preventing damage. Our team of experts has the knowledge and expertise to ensure that your pool is opened and closed correctly, so you can enjoy it for years to come.

Closing Your Swimming Pool

  • Add Winter Chemicals (if selected)
  • Remove skimmer baskets, wall fittings, cleaners, solar blankets, ladders, and handrails – will place in your desired location.
  • Lower water Level -
  • Solid Safety Covers and Floating Covers – water will be lowered 3” – 6.”
  • Mesh Safety Covers – water will be lowered 12” – 18.”
  • Drain the water from ALL equipment. 
  • Evacuate the lines, install plugs into wall returns, cleaner lines, and step jet returns. Install gizmos in skimmers.
  • Remove Salt Cell – Will place in desired location
  • Thoroughly clean DE and Cartridge Filters
  • Lubricate pump lid, salt cell, and heater O-rings.
  • Install the cover and adjust safety cover straps if needed.

Opening Your Swimming Pool

  • Remove the Pool Cover
  • Clean the Pool Cover and fan fold – will place in customer’s desired location.
  • Remove all winterizing components (gizmos)
  • Install all accessories (handrail, ladder, etc.)
  • Add or Remove water to ensure proper level
  • Install all equipment accessories (plugs, pressure gauge, etc.)
  • Start the system and perform a visual inspection to make sure everything is fully operational.
  • Vacuum, Brush, Net, and balance chemicals
  • We perform this service over 2 days.
